Better for a short hair breed

Very cute costume! The material and puffiness are like a lightweight puffy jacket for pets. Opens and closes completely on the underside with a long strip of Velcro about 1-1/2" wide. However, I had a hard time closing this with my long haired husky-aussie mix. Tho it fit her well (43 lbs, size L), I had a hard time keeping her undercarriage fur from getting caught in the Velcro. I tried sizing up, but the neck area was way too big and couldn't cinch the Velcro any tighter.

Adorable, but small runs smaller than usual.

Small is running like a xsmall this year AGAIN! Barely fits my thin 9lbs chi mix. A substantial difference between the small and medium(which fits my 25lbs mutt perfectly). It's a thick vest. Perfect for cold weather and has a hole for the leash hook.
