A: Hi - this lamp has an on-off socket switch, not a 3-way socket. However, if you are looking for 3-way functionality we'd suggest using a cord dimmer. These will allow you to dim and control the light much more than a 3-way bulb, and are easy to use. Thank you for the question.

Soon after purchasing 2 of these lamps, one of my kids bumped into the end table and the lamp knocked over and broke at the base. It still works, but I am very sad a new lamp is broken. :( Since then I have had the lamps fall 2 more times.
