Q: Is this like a reg door alarm with seperate magnetic plate as i have recessed doors and regular alarms wont work

A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Sabre White Plastic Motion Sensor Alarm Yes, the SABRE White Plastic Motion Sensor Alarm can work on recessed doors, but it is generally designed to be mounted on a flat wall or in a corner near the door to monitor movement through the entrance, rather than being attached directly to the recessed door frame itself. Because it is a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor rather than a magnetic contact sensor, it can detect movement in a 90° to 120° field of view, making it ideal for covering entry points from a distance, such as a hallway or corner, even if the door is set back.
