Soft but sturdy tightly woven backing with tight edges and no loose strings. Top of rug is cushioned, plush and gently tufted to give depth to pattern. Blue is always a risk due to poor lighting in photo. However, the ice blue and cream in this runner is exactly like the photo shows. Made in Egypt this runner is quality constructed, more like a performance rug but described as indoor/outdoor. Hope it holds up to the dirt and foot traffic in our mud room without constant cleaning. It requires nominal padding purchased on Amazon due to a lower price. It offers non slip protection yet is thin enough door can close over top of runner.
