After all, she's known the Macdonalds for most of her twenty-five years and granting Margaret a last wish is the least she can do to put her mind at ease as to the fate of her family. But can she reveal the secrets lurking amidst the lies and clear George Macdonald of the murder?Emma's questions soon have her stepping on toes. Review Quotes
An enjoyable read that kept me intrigued and wanting to know more about the lives of those in this novel. I am looking forward to reading the books that come after and once again being transported back in time to the romance, mystery and intrigue of the people and places who once lived on the banks of the Murray River. Thoroughly enjoyable. A glimpse of Australia in bygone times. A lovely mystery thrown in to complete the story. The author pulls you right in and keeps you there! Amazon review 24 May 2017
I do like Irene Sauman's writing style. I highly recommend reading her other two books, "A Gem of a Problem" and "A Body in the Woodpile." And, if there is a fourth in the series, I will look forward to reading it also. Amazon review 31 March 2018
