This review is really on Target, not the book. I, too, was sent the regular edition, when I ordered (and paid extra) for the special edition with sprayed edges and special artwork. I’d take it back, but it would cost the extra amount in gas and there’s no guarantee, apparently, that I’d even receive the version I ordered.

Disappointed
I ordered the Target edition with sprayed edges. It came in with no sprayed edges. I contacted customer service and they sent a replacement and it still came with no sprayed edges. Happy for the refund but still disappointed that I don’t have the special edition of the book.

Let down
Sadly did not meet the expectations I had going into it. My fault I know, but it fell flat regardless. I feel it had so much potential! If certain scenes were longer, If we were shown more into certain things, especially towards the end. It’s like it fast forwarded through the good stuff, and missed out on good drama (like his fathers reaction to things and the aftermath I feel could’ve been more, but instead it was just HEA and that’s it.) Again, may be my fault since my expectations were high but I definitely recommend to read it anyways, just don’t expect Lights Out, which is superior in all ways and I love that book so much, 6 stars on that one for sure! Also don’t need political views in my mafia thrillers. Just need that heart stop, thrillseeking. Keep me in the couch feeling.

She needed something deep, and he stepped up without even realizing it at first. Once he did, he didn’t hesitate. There were a few pacing issues and small plot holes, but they didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the story. Emotional, steady, and satisfying. I loved it
