A: No, it contains normal flour
submitted byLivinge - 1 year agoA: I am gluten intolerant but for some reason this is only non gluten free bread I can eat. Ive been eating it for years with no problems. Not sure why it doesn’t affect me but I’m very happy it doesn’t. Love this bread!

I did not like it at all. It has this artificial bitter flavor which I assume is meant to mimick the yeast flavor. I have since tried The Rustic Oven Sourdough and that one is quite nice in both flavor and texture.

I don't know how this loaf made it through the facility inspection. It was burned and so dried out that it was inedible. This has been happening more and more often, indicating that it's time to spend money on a more worthwhile brand.

Very Dry Bread!
The taste of this bread is great, but the texture is terrible. It’s always all dried out. Even if you get it somewhat moist the next day it’s dry. The last loaf I got was partially opened and dry as a bone. I got a refund and bought another loaf and it was also dry. There are many brands of sourdough to choose from and this is not my favorite.

Almost homemade!
This sourdough is very close to homemade in flavor and texture. Actually, probably the same!!! I like to look for one with a lighter crust as I know I will be toasting it myself and want it to still be soft. This brand, San Luis Sourdough, seems to be made with real sourdough starter which is what makes sourdough healthy. Yay! It is great for Turkey or tuna sandwiches. It tastes delicious when lightly toasted and spread with peanut or sunflower butter and strawberry or raspberry jam. It makes excellent garlic bread when spread with butter and garlic powder then broiled in the oven. This wonderful sourdough bread can last quite a while out on the counter in cool weather. In the warm summer weather, it may be best to pop it into the fridge to keep longer. I like to buy it at Target because it is convenient, fresh, and a reasonable/doable price at $4.49. Definitely recommend!
