About the Author
After graduating Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration, with an emphasis on Communication Design, Lydia Jean continued to pursue artistic endeavors. Her most recent position was with Claire's at their corporate office working as a product designer for their Under 12 cosmetic and stationery lines. During her time with the company, she was able to grow immensely as a designer/illustrator, as well as gain a wealth of skills and knowledge about the industry. Her major focus was on novelty cosmetic items, pucker pops, cosmetic bags, drink ware, plush diaries, stationary sets, and even a few cell phone cases.
Before Claire's, she held her first full-time job outside of college at Whole Foods Market as a Graphic Artist / Chalkboard Illustrator. During her 5 years with the company, working in two regions (Midwest and the Rocky Mountain region), she created amazing illustrated chalkboards, create in-store decor and installations, and designed in-store collateral for sales, promotions, features, and events. She also creates art for her successful Etsy Shop. She is consistently taking on freelance projects, creating art for a local horror-themed store, as well as attending local art shows and national conventions. This has allowed Lydia to get out into the world and meet other amazing creatives as well as share her work with a variety of people.
