Q: I removed the “try me” cord and added batteries, but it will not light up. It will light up if I plug-in the “try me” cord again and press the button. What am I doing wrong?

Cute halloween trees

Cute but instructions are not very clear and only got it to light by playing around with the chords. The two chords need to be attached ( connected together) after the “try me” piece is removed otherwise it will not light up.
