Smithfield Thick Cut Hickory Smoked Bacon - 16oz

We purchased a pack of Smithfield bacon thick cut applewood. Nothing but fat when we opened the package barely any meat and not edible. It was a waste of money. We used to purchase this brand all the time but for what they charge it's not worth it. I dont want to eat a stick of fat ive also taken pictures.

First four slices were skinny ribbons of fat. Not impressed.

I’ve raised 3 boys on bacon for breakfast and now I treat myself to thick cut for a summer BLT and it’s the same bacon I normally serve!!! Is this another method of downsizing? I’ve almost always used yours so a bit disappointed in what is called thick .

So thin it disappears in the frying pan.Lousy food

This is not thick cut on any level and there isn't even enough in the package to feed my family of four realistically

I was very disappointed in my package of thick cut Smithfield bacon. Approximately half the slices were very thin and after frying crumpled up. If that is thick cut i wonder how terribly thin regular cut would be! At least flavor was good.

The pieces were just the right thickness, nice and meaty, not to fatty, and cooked up perfect. I cooked it for 15 mins the bacon was crispy on the outside and still soft and meaty on the inside. Flavor was amazing. Would eat it everyday. My girls gave it two thumbs up.

The slices are actually thick—like, not “kinda thick” or “thicker than usual,” but real thick. They don’t shrivel into sad little strips when you cook them, which is honestly half the battle with bacon. Flavor-wise, it’s smoky and salty and just really satisfying. Nothing fancy or over-the-top, but solid and comforting in that classic bacon way. I usually toss mine in the oven because I’m lazy and hate grease splatter, and it always turns out crispy on the edges and chewy in the middle, which is exactly how I like it. One thing to keep in mind: it’s a little greasy, but I mean… it’s bacon. That’s kind of the deal. I actually save the grease to cook eggs or veggies, so I don’t really see it as a downside, but if you’re trying to keep things low-fat, maybe not the best pick. Price-wise, it’s a little more than your super basic bacon brands, but it feels worth it to me. You actually get big, satisfying slices that don’t disappear when they hit heat, and the flavor’s way better than the cheap stuff. It works great on a breakfast plate, but also in sandwiches or pasta if you wanna mix things up. All in all, super dependable, super tasty bacon. Not trying to be “artisanal” or anything, but it delivers exactly what you want. I keep a pack in the freezer at all times now.

It wasn’t overly salty like other brands I’ve tried and was great on its own and with other breakfast foods. The packaging was easy to open and fit perfectly in a baggy once opened. Highly recommend.

I think about 3 slices is a good serving for a Sunday breakfast! Perfect to make bacon crumbles or put in an omelet or sandwich!
