Wanting to bring back this legacy, an Amish man and his sons bought the company. Now all the axes are 100 percent made in the USA, continuing the tradition that started in 1864.Snow & Nealley axes are being made once again in the USA thanks to an Amish man and his sons who bought the iconic brand. Caring deeply about their work, they drop forge each blade from high carbon steel, then hand-temper, grind and finish it. The result is top notch craftsmanship you'll notice. Looks like high quality, as good as my council tool axe and my 20 year old ll bean hudson bay axe. I had a Snow and neally (original s &N) co purchased in early 70's. i miss it as it was stolen out of my truck with a new EMSKIT tent.

I can’t cut the butter to spread it with this edge
Ok, I always tweak edges on knives and axes, but this is Dull as a Brick. Just a little edge would have been nice. Otherwise seems sturdy and well made. I’ll know after I spend a few days putting on an edge. Love that it is American made or I’d not have bought it to begin with. Yes that is important!

Exactly as advertised. Excellent quality, perfect for splitting kindling. Needed a very minor bit of hand sharpening, which I actually prefer to do on my own. Would absolutely recommend and will be buying more for Christmas!

Top quality
I was looking for a hatchet specifically to split and make kindling when I found this. Product arrived quickly. I wasn’t disappointed. The bit steep is well finished and the cutting edge is well profiled and well hardened. Handle wood grain orientation was perfect. The overall balance of the axe is really nice and the grind of the head makes short work of pine when making kindling. The bit shape also makes this a miniature carpenter style axe or carving axe and it’s well suited for both. Made in the USA

Received damaged product
When I opened this product it had a manufacturing flaw, which according to the returns policy on Lehman’s website says I should contact customer service. When I contacted customer service (via email) with pictures of the flaw, they sent me a link to the returns policy page. Lol. Nice run around Lehman’s. I gave up trying to get a refund or replacement.
