SOG MULTI TOOL - 3 months ago

I am disappointed that this tool loosens up causing it to be unstable. For example the knife blade moves as I use it. Tightening the hex screws helps temporarily. However, they do loosen up again after some use. The tool also does tend to rust in certain areas.
Almost perfect

Great tool, but wish it had a clip for pocket carrying.

This is my 3rd SOG multitool, and by far my favorite one yet. Yes, it is a little bulky but I still have it on my belt every day and I don't know how I would survive without it. The layout is awesome, the magnetic hex drive is a great feature, and I love that I can open the pliers with one hand by just a flick of the wrist. Someone mentioned that it's too bulky for EDC. I could disagree more! Like I said earlier, I don't leave the house without it on my belt. I also really like the stonewashed finish and think it's a really nice looking tool. Keep up the good work guys! One last note, I really hate it when people call a multitool a "Leatherman" because these are so much nicer than any Leatherman out there! All I have to say is, if you have a Leatherman, rush to your nearest garbage pail, throw it in, and get yourself a SOG!
One heck of a tool!

I messed up when I placed my order and forgot to login before checking out, but I wanted to leave a review anyways. This tool has outperformed some of its competitors tools that I own. Without a doubt, it is more versatile, crafted and reliable than any of the other multitools I own (even the one that was voted "Multitool of the year" last year). If you are having second thoughts about buying one, please don't. You will not regret the quality of gear you get for such an amazing price!
A good tool that could have easily been great

The Power Access Deluxe was my first SOG multitool and I am impressed by the thought put into the tool selection. Little details like the bit driver in the closed tool and the 1/4" socket driver are nice and I like the broad wire cutter. Overall durability seems very good. However, I am disappointed in one thing - the length of the file and saw. These tools could very easily have been 10mm longer which would put them at the same length as the knife blades. A little extra length would improve the usability of these two tools and there would be plenty of space in the handles to accommodate it. A touch more quality control would be good too as when closed the handles of my tool are misaligned by over 1mm then "pop" into alignment when squeezed. It doesn't affect the performance or durability but at the same time it doesn't present a high-quality feel.

This tool's design, the tool set, the size are all unique. Some of the tools are not necessarily the most functional compared in and of themselves to other multi-tools, but they are always at least well done. For example, I might have a bigger saw on a leatherman, but considering the entire tool, the SOG is almost as good and half the size. The drivers, the actual screwdrivers on the tool are all excellent. Just a wonderful multi-tool if you have to carry just one. As far as the sheath goes, you can go by a $6 Leatherman camo sheath that is excellent and works well with this tool.

I bought this for my sons birthday and we love the tool itself. not as sturdy as the PowerAccess MT that I have. A little smaller than the PowerAccess MT and they put it in the same pouch as the MT which makes it jiggle around in the pouch and it also comes with the screw driver bits and it almost feel like the bits would slip out of the pouch. a new/different design of the pouch would be nice. I liked the pouch from the PowerAssist better for everyday carry. The molle strap ripped on my MT

I just received this last Thursday used my points to get it. It arrived and the first time I used the screw driver to remove the panel screws on a Honda the tip of it has broken off highly disappointed. The case tho is on point it’s Velcro latch seems better than the previous reviews. with the snap belt loop holder. I do worry that I’ll loose the but set it has a slightly loose fit on the side but other than that seems pretty sturdy just depressed I expect better quality especially from special operations group (SOG) thankfully I wants trying to diffuse an ied or something crazy

This is the best multi-tool I have ever used. I have had similar ones from other companies, including that one that charges so much more. Some of the comments indicated that the knife blade is too thin, I found the blade to be sharp and certainly heavy enough for medium weight work. All of the tools support the function they are designed for. Another comment mentioned the sheath but this one seems plenty capable for everyday use. If I was to make one change the sheath would be leather, but other than that, I see no issues.,

I have had Leatherman and Gerber multi tools. They just to not hold up or compare to SOG. I have had mine a few weeks. It holds up to jobs that the others would break or no hold up. I loves this little tool. I will spread the word.

Good ole' same ole same ole SOG quality with their multi-tools. I like the added beefiness to plier tips since the gears add a lot of torque and allowed you to easily break the tips off the older versions. Lots of tools, and a good selection of tools. Getting them out is easy. Putting them in is a little difficult and I've found the mechanism that lets you put them back in is a little clunky. Now the case is another story. One of a the few things SOG has never gotten right. Velcro is annoying and wears out. The tool always outlasts the case. I think they should go with a magnetic clasp to hold it close. Quick and easy opening. Stays shut though and it has the added benefit if the flap does open up; 1 there is a good chance it finds home again and recloses itself without you doing anything and 2 the magnetic can help hold the tool in without making it hard to still get out. Anyways, how it attached to your belt is horrible. The old style hook was much better. The button easily pops lose if you catch the case on anything. The loop is also too big so it flops around a lot on your belt. SOG needs to look at some conceal and carry holsters when designing their next case. Now one good thing about the case, is it would work perfectly on molle webbing or on a PALS. I think a lot of the issues with the case come from the fact that is set up to go on molle webbing but if that is what you are looking for then you will probably like the case. I think it would be better for SOG to sell a molle webbing case separately for those that want it and focus on daily users that are putting it on a belt for the case that comes with it. Because for me, the poweraccess is a good civilian daily carry multi-tool while I carry an a powerlock with a C4 spike, blasting cap crimpers, and a seat belt cutter as my military multi-tool for my job of being a combat engine. Lastly, the side loop for the bits is kinda worrisome. Its held all the bits so far and I haven't had an issue but I also wouldn't be surprised if they went missing one day. 5 star multi-tool minus 1 star case gives you a 4 star rating.

It surpasses all I want in a multi tool. Well worth the money. This is the best multi tool I have ever owned. SOG also designs their pliers better than others with the gear style open/close control.

The tool is great. The 3 star rating is because the case was poorly made. And the engraving was very small and hard to read.
