Excellent Upgrade
I bought this unit for my vessel to upgrade a Sony Marine radio from 10 years ago to another Sony unit which had many more features including Sirius XM, Bluetooth, Front USB

Much too bright display in the night!
When boating in the night, displays and huds need to be set to very low light emmiting, because they reduce visibility. This device only has two display settings - normal and dimming on. Dimming mode on is still much too bright which blinds extremely. SONY you need to fix this! When playing music over bluetooth via smart phone only one device can connect. When disconnecting bluetooth on smart phone and another smart phone wants to connect, radio must be switched off and on, which is irritating. Microphone quality for handsfree calls is good. Sound quality is not bad, EQ presets could be better. Would be nice to have different led display colors.

So far, so good
Just installed this in my boat, haven't had a chance to give it an "on water" torture test yet. I put my MP3 collections on a tiny 64GB usb drive and the unit is reading the music just fine. Programmed in my favorite FM station quite easily but when the main power is killed, the presets are lost. Was a straight forward installation with no problem(s). Took a few tries to get the bluetooth paired with my Nexus 5 phone but was able to play the same music, that also resides on my phone, with the PI music player. The back lower part of the player does get pretty hot, some better heat management is highly recommended to Sony as heat is the deadly enemy of electronics. Better integration with Android would also be much appreciated.
