Description
Book Synopsis
When most of us hear the word apocalypse, we think of catastrophe, cataclysm, and the end of existence. Yet, the archetype of apocalypse includes not only destruction, but revelation, and the potential for radical rebirth.
When hospicing the dying world, we are challenged to simultaneously midwife the emerging one. Combining the social analysis of a longtime progressive grassroots activist with the wisdom of a seasoned spiritual counselor, Liza Rankow helps readers--in the face of the collapse of a world built on domination and division--choose to participate in the birthing of a new world.
None of us individually can solve the intersecting crises we face. We are not meant to. Yet each of us has something to contribute to the collective work of justice-making. Offering an approach to liberation inspired by the "mysticactivists" from various faiths and cultures, Rankows presents readers with an integrative path toward healing and social transformation, helping readers address social issues and become agents of change.
Offers readers an array of supportive materials for spiritual insight, integration, sustainable activism, discernment of one's purpose, as well as an index of the many practices woven throughout the book--alongside a renewed sense of agency in combating overwhelm and hopelessness.
