Eh
Price-wise, this is more than acceptable for what you’re getting. It’s way cheaper than The Next 100 Episodes was at launch, which itself was cheaper than The First 100 Episodes at launch. It may just be Paramount’s way of acknowledging the show’s deteriorating quality, though. SpongeBob has never been as good as it was in its first few seasons, but the middle seasons still had some good episodes here and there. This set has very few episodes that I’d call good, and way more bad episodes. It almost feels like an entirely different show now; the jokes now rely solely on slapstick with very little dialogue-based humor, which is a problem since the slapstick is very weak. Another issue with this set is its packaging. The discs are very hard to remove from the case, and it feels like you’re going to break the inner ring. The discs are stacked, which means you’ll need to remove discs in order to access others. Even the episode guide requires you to remove discs to see it. However, there are enough good episodes here to justify getting this at a cheap enough price. If you personally enjoy these seasons, then by all means you should get this set, especially since as of me writing this, it includes 2 episodes (Snow Yellow and Sandy’s Country Christmas) that haven’t aired yet anywhere in the world, though Kwarantined Krab is still missing.
