Stagg Classic Chili has been a beloved choice for many families, praised for its hearty flavor and satisfying texture. However, recent changes in the recipe have led to increased spiciness, causing disappointment among long-time fans. Guests appreciate the chili's robust taste and natural ingredients, making it a versatile option for meals like chili dogs or as a comforting dish on its own. Many hope for a return to the milder original recipe.

I grew up eating the original. Now it's so spicy I don't like it :( don't want to try any other flavors cause I'm worried they'll be spicy too. Bring back the old recipe!!!

Perhaps nobody at Stagg understands what the word Classic implies. This isn't the classic chili that I loved, it's all new, too spicy, and inedible - BAD. What happened? I'll inform my grocer. Yuck!!
I miss the old days

They seemed to have changed the recipe over the last year and a half. Now its spicy but not in a good way. Its like theres habanero powder or something. Bring back the old recipe!

My family loved this chili until about a year or so ago when it suddenly changed to a very spicy chili with no warning and no label change indicating updated recipe. The kids no longer eat this.

Hi Kristi, this would be a quality concern regarding the pepper crop used. Can you please reply to the email we've sent out to you?

I really thought I must be losing my mind until I read all the other comments. We used to eat STAGG Classic Chili 2-3 times a month and nothing else compared. I have loved this product for over 10 years. For the past ten months, we keep buying it randomly hoping it will go back to the original recipe but I can't buy it anymore. Prices have more than doubled in the past 2-3 years on this in my area and that is too much $ to gamble. It is outrageously spicy. This isn't a different crop of peppers, this is something else. And certainly not a specific run since this has happened on at least 7-8 occasions over the past 10 months and we buy 4-5 cans at a time. Please please fix this and change it back.

What have you done to our favorite chili??? We have loved it for at least 20 years and now can't eat it. And will never buy it again. It is way too spicy! Why have you changed it?? Clearly, you can see that you have lost tons of customers! Why don't you change it back??

Some folks just want a good bowl of not so spicy chili. What happened to you guys?? You had one of the best chilis around. You buy them out and change what was working. You make other variants, why change this one??? When you come out with "The way we were" chili, I might try it. Stop with the spicey please.

Loved eating Classic Chili with Beans for over 20 yrs for its mild flavor. Since about 10 mths ago, noticed it was spicier than usual. Thought maybe can was mislabeled. But no, every can since then has been lip burning spicy. Please change it back to the original formulation. If it doesn't change, we will look for something else.

We used to mix 1 can of Classic and 1 of Country and it was perfect. Now the classic is WAY too hot. I thought it was your habanero version. Switch back to your Classic recipe, please.

I used to love the classic flavor but now it is similar but more spicy, NO not a fan now. If I wanted spicy I would buy the Laredo flavor. Please change the original back ASAP. I'm now trying different brands to find a good flavor. Every 6 months I might try the classic to see if if better but am disappointed everything. Not worth the price for the new flavor.

You guys messed up a good thing. Not all people eat spicy. Go back to your original recipe. If you want to keep spicy do it. At least give your faithful customers a choice. And stop with the AI generated response to emails.

Our family has loved your Classic Chili for years...the last two times we purchased the chili was way too hot to eat. I thought I had purchased the Dymanite Hot by mistake. Maybe this Classic Chili is mis-labled? Anyway, after two cans in a row being very hot I will not be purchasing again. Sorry...
