We introduced this blend in 1998 for those who prefer a milder cup. A shade lighter than most of our offerings—more toasty than roasty—it was the result of playing with roast and taste profile together for a flavor that appealed to a wider range of palates. Perfect if you want to wake up to a less intense coffee but still want a lot of character, it's light and lively with a soft sweetness. We source 100% arabica beans when crafting our coffee. Each coffee bean requires a unique balance of temperature and time to reach its individual peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor.

Q: Can you use this in a French Press?

A: Thanks for your question, Rae! Starbucks pre-ground coffee is a medium grind, perfect for a drip coffee maker. Typically, a coarser grind is used for a French Press for the right extraction and helps prevent coffee grinds from getting through the metal filter. Breakfast Blend has the perfect flavor and is highly aromatic. This blend is my favorite snd I always return to it after trying other varieties. Not overly roasted which highlights the delicate flavors. Thank you Nestle for bringing this wonderful coffee to my local grocery store!!

What happened? I've been a strictly loyal at-home Breakfast Blend drinker for 20 years. Something has changed. It used to have the "sweet orange, brown sugar" smell and flavor as described on the package. Now it smells and tastes like burnt tobacco. I would even go as far as to describe the nasty smell and flavor as like chewing tobacco. When your family comments after a fresh brewed batch, "That stinks! What is it?". I opened the 3 other bags I have (with Best Before date 04MAY2025) and they all smell just as bad as the one I brewed. What happened?!!

I used a basic coffee maker to brew coffee with Pike roast because we love this brew in Stabucks & it was just like the coffee we have at Starbucks. No more spending money at Starbucks from now on, just going to do it home. Amazed by how good it tastes.

I loved it before they changed the packaging. I’m not sure what they did to the flavor of the beans, but it’s definitely not as good. Will probably not buy it again.

We have updated the packaging design for our whole bean, ground and K-cup® Pods. We have also updated the tasting notes to best describe the delicious flavors you'll find in every cup. The coffee inside is the same roast you know and love. The taste of the roast has not changed.

I was reluctant to try Starbucks ground coffee, it's usually out of my price range, but MANNN it is bold and smooth with a robustness that makes me not NEED more than 1 cup.
