Dieses Buch ist als Grundlagenlehrbuch - in erster Linie für das Maschinenbaustudium - konzipiert. Anhand zahlreicher Problemstellungen wird an geeigneten Modellen mit anschaulichen Abbildungen die Bearbeitung und Lösung der Aufgabenstellungen ausführlich erläutert. Viele durchgerechneter Beispiele und Übungsaufgaben aus den typischen Problemfeldern des Maschinenbaus sollen ein Gefühl für die Wirkung von Kräften und Momenten bei unterschiedlichen Belastungen vermitteln.

Dabei legt der Autor großen Wert auf die Interpretation und Deutung der Rechenergebnisse. So soll ein umfassendes Verständnis der Zusammenhänge zwischen der Belastung und den dadurch verursachten Wirkungen über die bloße Anwendung der Formeln hinaus entwickelt werden. Dies ist für den angehenden Ingenieur von besonderer Bedeutung. Bei den vorgestellten Lösungsverfahren sind die mathematischen Grundlagen knapp gehalten; daher ist das Lehrbuch neben der Vorlesung auch gut für das Selbststudium geeignet.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Selke

hat an der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin und an der Technischen Universität Chemnitz studiert und dort promoviert. Von 1992 bis 2009 war er Professor für Technische Mechanik, Maschinendynamik und Finite-Elemente-Methodean der Technischen Hochschule (FH) Wildau.
