Q: Are any ingredients bioengineered or genetically modified, and if so, which one(s)?

submitted by Classy Cook - 2 years ago
  • A: Yes, this product may contain bioengineered ingredients. If the product contains sugar, corn, soy, or canola, then it more than likely has ingredients from genetically modified crops given their prevalence in the United States. We hope this helps! -Teresa

Q: Can lasagna still be cooked after "Best Buy"date?

submitted by Margaret - 2 years ago
  • A: Great question, Margaret! If a product is beyond the recommended shelf life and had been handled properly, it will not present a food-safety issue. The product may, however, be diminished in flavor, texture, and/or appearance. We hope this is helpful. -Teresa

    Noodles won’t cook properly

I bought 2 with the same issue as another review, one layer or noodles had no sauce and the middle wouldn’t cook properly. Until they fix this, I would never recommend. Noodles are tough and no matter what I do, they won’t cook.

    The meat is gross

Why does Stouffers stick meat in almost every lasagna they make? It costs more, and it doesn’t taste good. I wish they would make a traditional lasagna without it. Hard pass.

    Taste is good

I have tried almost all stoufers frozen foods. This lasagna is decent in taste and when prepping in the oven can pass for a home cooked meal. My kids like the taste. It is alittle soft when spooning as the pasta tends to be softer.

    Yummy

Personally, I prefer the cheese lasagna and I’m extremely upset that they don’t make it anymore so for a backup I get this one and it’s pretty good. I honestly eat this at least once a week or maybe once every couple of weeks with a couple slices of garlic bread for an at home easy quick dinner you can’t be mad. It’s cheap and it’s delicious and I do like the texture so you don’t feel like you’re eating a nasty frozen entrée and just settling for the night. It’s actually pretty comforting and fulfilling.

    Disappointing

I just served this at a dinner party and was terribly disappointed in every aspect of the dish. There was hardly any cheese, the lasagna noodles were thick and doughy, there wasn’t much meat in the sauce, and the flavor was just mediocre. I cannot recommend this product. We used to serve Stouffers with confidence, but sadly, no more.

    Disappointed, tasted like chemicals.

I have been a loyal Stouffer’s lasagna customer for 13 years. Every Christmas Eve I pop a couple in the oven as a holiday tradition. Something change. Recently purchased a box and the sauce tastes like chemicals. Really disappointed if they did a recipe change.

    Disappointed

Please change the lasagna noodles back to the original or something close. It's nearly inedible now. You have lost a loyal customer. The traditional flat lasagna noodle should not be altered. The sauce and cheese are still taste the same and do not need to be changed.

    Stouffer's Meat Lasagna

I have been purchasing the Meat Lasagna for many years and follow the directions and the last 5 boxes I purchased when I cook them in the microwave the edges have been burning and stick to the plastic container they come in. Why all of a sudden is this happening?

    RIGHT EVERY TIME

I don't know how they do it. This meal turns out just right every time. The pasta is perfectly al dente, the sauce savory. Will definitely keep buying, and serving, this dish.

    Bland

The lasagna is big, but it's bland. I had to make it my own because it had no flavor, not enough cheese and no ricotta which makes it lasagna. I will buy again, but only if I don't feel like making from scratch and I will make it my own of course.

    Very good frozen dinner.

Stouffer’s frozen lasagna is one of their most popular meals, and the taste depends a bit on which version you get (meat & sauce, five cheese, veggie, etc.), but in general: • Meat Lovers / Classic Meat & Sauce: • Tomato sauce is tangy and slightly sweet, but not as complex as homemade. • Ground beef and Italian sausage give it a hearty, savory flavor. • Cheese (mostly mozzarella and ricotta) melts into a creamy, gooey layer. • Pasta layers are soft, sometimes a little mushy if overcooked. • Five Cheese / Cheese Only: • Very rich and cheesy, with mozzarella and ricotta standing out. • Sauce leans sweet, balancing the salty cheese. • Feels heavier and creamier than the meat versions. • Lighter taste, but still saucy and good.

    Yeah, no thanks

The first time I've tried this and probably the last. The pasta has a weird texture. Fat and gooey, not firm and chewy. Sauce and cheese was good, but the 2X meat was not what I would consider 2X. I can't imagine what 1x would be like, maybe vegetarian???

    NEVER MICROWAVE!

Lord, never microwave these meals! 20-30% of the meal wasted. Burnt to crisp around the edges and bottom. Could barely taste the cheese or meat in the dish. It's bad when your family has to cut the dish with steak knives to get the slices out and then continue to use the steak knives to cut out the burnt areas. Thank goodness for DIY side dishes. 960mg of sodium too (well, at least we saved some of those from the burnt areas).

    Smaller portion

Bought the family size lasagna which I've had many times. I opened it and the container was missing a third of the portion size. I baked it and one whole side looks deflated as though they didn't put enough product in the container. Such a disappointment

    Not good at all

This was the worst Lasagna we have ever had. There was a layer of pasta with no sauce in between so that made it not cook properly. Soo disappointed.
