Disappointed in puncture-prone tires

Our kids love the Strider 12 so we bought the 14x for them since they've outgrown the 12. They love to ride their 12's on hiking trails, over rocks, through mud puddles as well as sidewalks and asphalt. We were so disappointed when the new bikes arrived because the tires are NOT puncture-proof. Man, this is a bummer for our little adventurers. We've thought about it a lot and will be returning the bikes due to this. Hopefully their 12 bikes will fit them a while longer.

Simple, lightweight, and well-designed. Better than bikes that cost twice as much.

My 4 yr old loves this bike. After a year or so trying to teach her how to use pedals, this is so much better. It's completely adjustable in 3 places, from the seat to the handle bars. We love it!

Bought it on target.com twice because the first time I got the product that’s with cardboard all taped up, and then the second time they still sent it from the same Indianapolis return center, Rapid City, SD. Seems like ordering from target.com just get you returned items.

We started our son on the 12" classic around the time he was 1 1/2 yrs old inside our house! He loved it and was always on it cruising. We then purchased the 14X with pedals by the time he was 3 and after a couple times on it without the pedals, we put them on and the rest is history. We had a 3yr old pedaling his own bike!! Our whole neighborhood was just floored that he was riding a bike with no training wheels!! I highly recommend Strider Bikes to anyone with young children. This summer we graduated our now 5 1/2 yr old to a 20" 3 speed mountain bike and he cruises!! Hands down to Strider because without their bikes our child has never had to have training wheels and has the strongest legs!!

The bike itself is great! Wish it came with a kickstand though. My daughter enjoys riding it but it is challenging for her at 3 years old to balance still - I think with time it will be great. The bike itself is sturdy, well put together and easy to assemble. Sturdy frame, easy and adjustable seat. The bike itself is light. Definitely a great purchase.

Love this bike! Our son mastered the balance bike at 2 and pedals at 3! And after 2 years, it is still in great condition and will be passed down to his younger siblings. I recommend skipping the training wheels to all parents!

We bought the 14x for our tall daughter for her 3rd birthday. She's been riding it for a year and mastered balancing within that time. We bought the pedal kit last week and decided to put it on over the weekend thinking she'd take a few weeks to learn how to use the bike with the pedals. She was riding her bike with the pedals in 5 minutes. She is so in love with her new pedal bike! We can't get her off of it! I would highly recommend this to save the headache of teaching your kiddos how to ride a bike!

My daughter graduated to the 14x from the 12". She always loved the bike, and we loved the durability! She actually never mastered the balanced cruising (with no pedal), so I wasn't sure she would be able to make the transition to riding without training wheels. But we added the pedal kit when she was ready to try, & catching on was just a matter of a little practice! She rode it all over our city, leaving black tire skid marks everywhere she went! (Braking & Skidding across the sidewalk or gravel was always one of her favorite things) Our 2 year old son is very tall, and we just pulled this one out of storage to pull the pedal kit off for him to start using. Thanks Strider for making such a great bike!

Great bike!! Awesome quality and perfect for teaching balance. We started with the 12” Strider bike when our daughter was two, and at 3 1/2 she’s grown too tall for it. So we upgraded to this one. Being winter in Michigan she hasn’t had a chance to ride it outside, but she’s ridden it around the basement and is super excited about her new bike! Highly recommend this one and the 12” one depending on your child’s age/height.

This was fantastic! My 6 year old was struggling a ton with his traditional pedal bike. Bought this, he used it twice and then successfully moved on to riding his pedal bike!

My 4.5 year old son has been riding strider bikes for a while, but has spent the last few months balancing on this larger model. Once he was really comfortable with it (putting his feet up on the foot rests and balancing for long times) I installed the pedal kit. We just tried it a few weeks ago and he just picked up and went! I told him to try to balance and then just put your feet on the pedals - he did and instantly took off! I was expecting at least a bit more drama, like when I was learning as a kid.. but nope, strider makes going from balance bike to pedals a total breeze. There are some other brands that have a similar seat to handle bar position as strider bikes, but what really sets these apart is the ability to convert to pedals. Your kiddo is already comfortable with a particular bike, so throwing pedals on it becomes an easy next step. Build quality and corrosion resistance has also been great, though I feel the pedaling resistance could stand to be a bit lower, and there was a slight gap between the bike frame and pedals that I filled with a square washer that doesn't seem to affect performance. Minor things aside, I'm a total believer in this approach to learning biking and highly recommend this brand. Thank you, Strider!

My son had been on a balance bike since he was 2-2.5 years older. We got him a training wheel bike fornpedaling. Biggest mistake ever. Purchased this bike a week ago and put him on it day 1. Loved the foot rests. Next morning I put the pedal kit on and 15 minutes later he was pedaling on his own a week before his 4th birthday. Proudest moment of our lives together. I strongly suggest this bike and to start early. My 18 month old is on his old balance bike and it will be painted pink next week.

I have an extremely tall 3 year old so we had to get a larger balance bike. This one is made well and sturdy! I love that we can just order the pedal/chain system once he has mastered the balance bike. Less bikes to purchase!

I got these bikes for my kids. They used them without the peddles for a few months. Their balance got better and better. My almost 6 year old literally immediately was able to ride when we put his peddles on. My almost 4 year old took about an hour of trying but got the hang of it and she's riding now too. I'm glad we got these instead of regular bikes.

Great Transition Bike

This thing is great for transitioning to pedaling. Especially if they had a smaller balance bike before. Once mine started pedaling on it they transitioned to a regular 16" bike pretty quickly. Probably only used this for 6-9 months but it was well worth it.

My son's 12" bike was getting too small for him to bring his feet up without throwing himself off balance. It was becoming more of an encumbrance than a fun toy, so it was time to graduate to a 14" bike. The moment it was right-side-up after assembly, he was off and running. Next up: pedals!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Strider bikes and this 14x sport model. We started with the Strider 12 classic when my son was 2 and he was ready to upgrade to the 14x for his 3rd birthday. It was a seamless transition between the two bikes and after a month of getting used to the bigger bike, we added the pedals. Less than 5 min later, my 3 year old is pedaling down the street with his older siblings. He is the youngest of our children and the first one to learn with a balance bike. It was the most amazing thing to watch the progression from walking, to striding, to gliding and then to pedaling! I highly recommend Strider bikes! Truly the best way for kids to learn to ride a bike.
