FBI handler Meg Jennings and her K-9 partner, Hawk, vie to rescue plane crash survivors from a Colorado mountain--and contend with a hijacker determined to stop them. For fans of harder-edged crime fiction by authors like Melinda Leigh, Kendra Elliot, Iris Johansen, and Robert Crais. As long as there's hope of finding life, no mission is too dangerous for Meg Jennings and her colleagues in the FBI K-9 unit. But locating the wreckage of a hijacked private plane high in the Elk Mountains of Colorado is treacherous in a multitude of ways--some of them impossible for even a seasoned team to predict. The plane, carrying the board of directors of Barron Pharmaceuticals, crashed on a rocky peak and was cleaved in two. Perilous weather means the rescuers have to ascend on foot, with their dogs unleashed in case of falls. It takes hours to locate the wreckage, but miraculously, Meg and Hawk find half a dozen passengers and crew still alive. The hijacker also survived, and has fled into the wilderness with the CEO's son in pursuit. As soon as day breaks, the K-9 teams set out to find both men, and the dogs quickly pick up a scent trail. Meg has used her connections with an investigative reporter to learn as much as she can about the hijacker, hoping to use it when they apprehend him. But first, they must contend with the mountain's savage fury, and an adversary who will destroy as many lives as possible rather than face justice . . .Review Quotes

Call outs don't stop - even in the midst of wedding plans, as Meg Jennings discovers when she and her K-9 Hawk, along with her coworker Brian and his K-9, are sent to Colorado to help with the search and rescue, and possible fugitive apprehension, after a plane is hijacked over the Rockies. Not only will the teams have to contend with a hijacker, but there's all the danger related to a possible mountain rescue - snow, icy temps, wild animals, and avalanches. Meg and Hawk will have to work extra hard to resolve this situation if she wants to make it to her wedding. This is absolutely one of my favorite series! Each book stands alone well, so it's not necessary to read the books in order (but I recommend it for maximum enjoyment). Meg, Hawk, and the rest of her team and supporting characters keep this series interesting, has me turning the pages, and recommending the books to everyone.
On the edge of the seat suspense.

I received this book as an ARC with no expectations of a positive review. This is the first time that I have read any of Ms. Driscoll's books. It was fabulous. Meg and Brian are an FBI agents with their Human Scent Evidence Partners, Hawk and Lacey. They were sent to Aspen Colorado. Baron Pharma's plane went down a long with the CEO, COO and all the board members aboard. The flight attendant was able to get word out that the plane was being hijacked before it crashed. Baron Pharma was in the news for the drug, Zelcone. It was highly addictive. This drug was also finding its way on the streets. There have been many OD's. Meg is afraid of heights. Join Meg, Brian, Hawk and Lacey as they manuver the cloud cover, cold, and high altitudes of Pyramid Peak to rescue any survivors of the plane crash. They have no idea if the hijacker is alive or dead. This book will keep you turning the pages wanting to know more.
