Sensitivity has option to turn for night vision in which camera becomes more sensitive towards motion and starts recording activities. Setup and installation were straightforward, with all the necessary hardware and instructions included in the box. The camera delivers clear footage day and night, letting you see who’s at your door from your mobile or tablet. The Swann Bell connects to your home Wi-Fi (though you need 2.4G, not 5G) and sends alerts to your phone when someone presses the bell. The built-in sensor picks up movement at your front door, so you’re always in the loop (sometime, it is overly sensitive). However, storage is limited up to two days record, and you need to buy subscription for cloud storage. Due to the advanced functionalities of motion sensing, video recording, and two-way communication, the battery depletes relatively quickly. On average, it maintains power for approximately two weeks.

It’s definitely value for money for all these great features to keep you notified and safe. The installation and setup was very easy. No power tools required and anyone can easily install it. The notifications are instant, as soon as motion is detected or the doorbell is rang, you’ll know. It also comes with a 32GB mini SD card so all your motion alerts are automatically saved.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The doorbell is very easy to install, I installed the app and set up an account, once the email is verified; you can then get to see live view of who is at the door and at the same time, it stores the videos where motion and movement were detected, nightvision is very clear and the audio is of great quality. I love this doorbell, it adds more security to the house.

After asking my husband to install it and getting fed up waiting for him, I grabbed the drill and put this gem on the wall myself with ease. I love the sleek design, it doesn't take away from my entrance atheistic and as we dont have a security door yet, it makes me feel at ease knowing my kids and I don't have to open the door to see who's on the other side. We feel protected. The sound quality is clear and the fact that i can shade the areas i want to detect is a game changer! The cars going past dont set it off, nor does my cat. I am extremely happy with this product and we are looking into more products from Swann security.

I particularly like how I can monitor my front door now from my mobile phone. The live view, playback and motion detection activity statistics are my favorite features in the app. I can check at anytime from anywhere to see if there are any deliveries or people at my front door, and the video quality is satisfactory. So this door bell works as a smart security camera with full coverage head to toe view to see who’s at the door and what’s on the ground.

The picture quality is super clear (even at night) and I love being able to see exactly who’s at the door from my phone. Firstly it is super easy to install the instructions are very clear and simple, it’s also simple connecting it to your phone. The thing we love most is we can see who is at the front door and we are able to speak to them or use one to pre installed messages. I now feel more secure as I don’t have to open the door to see who is there. I honestly can’t believe we never had a video door bell, now I couldn’t live without one! Very highly recommended!

The 4KBUDDY has been operating well with the exception that after replacing my phone with a Google Pixel 9 the Swann Security app now only displays what looks like a zoomed in picture from the 4KBUDDY. No longer is the doormat visible! it's like the 1:1, 160-degree field of view is now about 90 degrees. This display problem also exists on a Pixel 7 and a Samsung S9 tablet, that I've tested it on. The devices run Android 14 and 15. On my Pixel 4a5g the doorbell display was correct and showed the full field of view. Hopefully a firmware update on the doorbell or an Android update will fix the annoying problem!

We have had the doorbell for about 1 month now and love it. I had an orion before but was too delayed. Very easy to setup and having no membership was a main reason for selecting Swann. Next purchase will be outdoor cameras.

Battery life is an issue. Also we haven't worked out how to have facial recognition and dog recognition to work with notifications for either the swann buddy or the NVR security system.

Solid piece of kit. Feels substantial not flimsy. Easy to mount and setup. The 32Gb micro SD card stores quite a bit of video, though have purchased a 128Gb card (HQ digital camera standard) to replace it and increase storage space. Pairing with the Swann App was easy, and I can now view images from my Swann Buddy4k and my Swann 4k CCTV system on the same app. Using the same account details the other members of the family have also installed the Swann App, and get to see the same live view and recorded events as I do, so all three of us can monitor the system. With settings as I have them the battery seems to last about three weeks between charges. The FoV is excellent capturing someone approaching the door from head to foot, though motion detection works best if person crossing in front of camera not head on. Very useful addition to my CCTV security system, and the presence of a working video doorbell is a good deterrent so I aim to keep an eye on the state of battery charge, so it keeps working.

I've had mine for just over a month and love it but, I have to charge it every week even with all the settings at the lowest to prolong the battery life, can I get a solar panel and hard wire it?
