SYLVANIA Roadsight Mirror Dash Camera and Backup Camera - 340 Degree View - HD 1080p

I purchased this with the backup/rear view camera being the main selling point for me. Tested it, didn't work. Emailed support and they told me "The rear camera view will not show on the camera itself. The recordings do get saved to both the app and memory card." 1: it's black screen. Black screen when viewing the camera on the device, black screen when viewing the videos that did save to the memory card. 2. What's the point of a rear view/backup camera if i can't see the view while actively using it? So I can review how well I did backing up later on? It is marketed as being able to use it as a backup camera, even supposed to have the guide lines when plugged into the reverse taillights. I didn't get to test that, because there is no image.

Tested prior tp install ok. Installed and used wire loom protection conduit because cables are frail and short for many standard vehicles. After camera operated for 5 seconds, it went dark with nor picture and never came back.

32gb, 64, and 128gb not recognized. This was a gift and I have no receipt. The $25.00 Chinese cam works better. How very sad

I got this as an upgrade, sort of, to my current dash cam setup. However, after seeing the lackluster 30 frames per second, firmware update horror stories from other owners & generic responses from "support", I will absolutely be buying a second hardwire kit from Sylvania to continue using my older 4K 60fps wifi enabled "inferior" no name brand dash cam that looks suspiciously identical to Sylvania's 4k option. Yes, I would still recommend this as a first line defense & update for older/less well appointed vehicles for the average driver

The Roadsight Mirror Mount Camera is a great product. But the cable form the rear camera is too short for my vehicle, a 2008 RAM 1500 quadcab. I had to make an extension cable and insert it between the Sylvana junction of the rear camera cable in order to mount the rear camera. I suggest you manufacture an optional extension cable kit for the Roadsight Mirror Mount product, so it can be used on larger vehicles.

Worked for less than a year. I tried to reset, but cannot come to live again. Also if you record most of your trips, you have to constantly format your SD card, doesn't accept more than 32 gigs.

No complaints here! I've got a lifted dodge ram and the reverse lights aren't bright enough to reach the ground. When I got this product I was amazed to find out that the backup camera does so well. That I can see everything without getting new brighter bulbs!

Camera was working great until I tried to update it. The update made it not turn on anymore. Customer service wanted to see my receipt before helping me. Since I didn't have it anymore they never help

My rear camera got broke where can I find a replacement

I got the roadsight mirror dash camera for Christmas. I have had it for 2 years. In the last year and a half the battery in my truck has gone dead. The camera has drained it . The battery in the camera is not charging. This last time the battery went dead in my truck the camera has an error no sim card . there is a sim card in it. I have tried to reformat the card and the camera will not do it. All I get is no sim card icon in the lower left corner.

This is my second mirror dash cam (though this is my first from Sylvania) and this one is nothing like my old one. I'm still waiting on replies from Sylvania support -- I think today is day 4 -- with HOPEFULLY troubleshooting and resolutions to: 1) why the mirror will not stay on -- the instructions say that by default it's set to "screensaver mode", and to turn that setting off. There is no setting for screensaver mode, I've gone through all of the available settings. So every minute or so, the mirror goes into screensaver mode and the only way to get a picture back on it is to quick-press the power button underneath the bottom of the mirror. Needless to say, no one wants to commute every day, clicking a power button every minute as they go down the road. 2) the rear camera shows everything inverted. If I'm in the middle lane of a 3-lane road, a car passing me on the LEFT hand lane (on my left / driver side) will show on the mirror screen as passing me on the right (passenger side). Likewise, if a car is passing me on my RIGHT, it shows on the mirror like they're coming up on my left (driver side). It might actually be a GOOD thing that the screen doesn't stay on because that is insanely confusing. Their instructions say to mount the rear cam a certain way so that the image isn't upside down...as far as I can tell, it's properly mounted, and the images aren't upside down, they're inverted left-and-right. I will give support a couple more days to find solutions before just sending it back. So far, I'm far from impressed. However, if the issues above can be resolved, then I will gladly change this review.

I bought the mirror camera for use on my Tundra extended cab. I actually hooked it up and it looked great but when I wired up the rear camera it is at least 5-8 ft. short of getting to the mirror unit. It required 4 wires from the rear camera to the mirror apparently and the mini jacks (have FOUR wires) and there apparently are no male-to female jack extenders rendering the rear useless. The wire is so fine you can't splice it (the dealer tried to get me to do that.) Sylvania needs to come up with set of extender wires. Unless I can come up with a male-female 4 wire jack camera system completely useless.

I purchased this mirror earlier this year, was just now able to get help installing it. Updated firmware as instructed. after download into mirror...it shut off and would not come back on. we tried every trouble shooting solution. nothing worked. I hope to hear back from someone about this so we can fix it...unfortunately it is out of return or exchange window.

This product upgrades any vehicle to modern times it records 1080p for both a dash cam and a rear cam and has a motion sensor so if a vehicle has any damage done to it it will record the video of the vehicle being hit or shaken It works great at night as a backup camera and has night vision also it could be used as a regular mirror it just attaches right over your existing mirror and is fairly simple to set up I would highly recommend this product to anyone who does not have a backup camera or who just wants a little extra protection and needs a dash camera as well

It was an easy installation and did not take very long. Everything that you needed to set it up was in the box and it is so helpful! I don't have a backup camera in my car and with this, I can see everything! It makes reversing easier and I love how it comes with an sd card to store video. Overall, great product and I would definitely recommend this!

I have an older car without any sort of technology that today's cars typically have, so I was happy to try this out. I had a bit of an issue with the installation, but that could be a "user error". Once installed, it worked as it should. I think it is a bit overpriced, but would recommend as far as quality goes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This roadside mirror easily attached to my current rear view mirror, using rubber elastics to wrap around the back. It plugs into the cigarette lighter piece easily. The only things I didn't like were that you had to find a way to hide the cord for both the front mirror/camera, and the rear plate cam. That was pretty inconvenient, and I thought it would've been nice to somehow rig it to the lights or wiring in the back without the use of that lighter piece. All in all, the mirror was clean and large. Easy to see the normal mirror, as well as the dash cam. You can turn off the dash cam easily from the bottom of the mirror as well. The dash cam itself is on the left side of the mirror, so its more of a drovers view. You have the ability to look up, down, change the date/time settings, add the included sd card, and more. Very nice to have in case of an emergency. You can record and take pictures as well, from the touch screen mirror.

Absolutely recommend to friends and family. The audio recording could be a bit better, but maybe it's only because I played it back directly on the device. A must buy for sure!

There is a dash cam, but I don't know how to get in there, so I don't use it. This makes it possible for me to have a dash cam AND rear cam. This product comes in handy, especially on country roads or following big trucks that spill debris. I would definitely recommend this product.
