This bar is really a fantastic bar for a home gym. Given the relatively low price, it's high quality. Most (including me) do not need $1000+ bars for home gyms as it will never experience the abuse that a bar at a public gym will. I think the barbell knurling is appropriate middle of the road as it won't destroy your skin and grip, but will survive sweat and chalk. Overall, I think it's a fantastic bar for it's price.
