Book Synopsis
Join Hare and Bear and ALL the fun of the fair in this hilarious story about friendship and compromise.
Hare and Bear are at the fair and they are NOT happy. Some rides swirl and twirl, and others bump and thump . . . Will the two friends ever find a ride they BOTH like? From the bestselling duo behind the The Cat and the Rat and the Hat and The Goat and the Stoat and the Boat comes a hilarious new adventure about two friends determined to compromise on anything but fun.Review Quotes
Bold swaths of color complement summertime shenanigans in this rhyming picture book about two adventurous friends. Bear is wrested from his chair and towed to the fair by his friend Hare, but they can't agree on what to ride. Hare likes to swing and twirl, while Bear prefers to thump and bash; a swooping rollercoaster proves a fitting compromise for the unlikely pair. The illustrations play with portrait and landscape orientation to capture the high-octane thrills of a summer carnival.--Danielle Ballantyne, Foreword Reviews
Young children who are beginning to grasp the concept of rhymes are the natural constituency for "The Bear and the Hare and the Fair" (Nosy Crow, 32 pages, $17.99), a picture book with illustrations so brash they practically biff you in the face. "This is the bear/ asleep in the chair/ in the lair," writes Em Lynas, as Matt Hunt shows the snoozing animal about to be yanked from sleep by an excited hare crying: "I want to go to the fair, Bear!" The homophones get no more complicated, but complication is not the point of this jolly opportunity for toddlers to see and say words that rhyme.--Wall Street Journal
