About the Book

Based on the award-winning blog 1000awesomethings.com, "The Book of Awesome" is a celebration of life's little moments and the underappreciated, simple things that make us happy, from popping bubble wrap to hitting a bunch of green lights in a row.

Book Synopsis

Based on the award-winning 10-million-plus-hit blog 1000 Awesome Things, The Book of Awesome is an international bestselling high five for humanity and a big celebration of life's little moments.

Sometimes it's easy to forget the things that make us smile. With a 24/7 news cycle reporting that the polar ice caps are melting, hurricanes are swirling in the seas, wars are heating up around the world, and the job market is in a deep freeze, it's tempting to feel that the world is falling apart. But awesome things are all around us, like:

- Popping Bubble Wrap
- Wearing underwear just out of the dryer
- Fixing electronics by smacking them
- Getting called up to the dinner buffet first at a wedding
- Watching The Price Is Right when you're home sick
- Hitting a bunch of green lights in a row
- Waking up and realizing it's Saturday

The Book of Awesome reminds us that the best things in life are free (yes, your grandma was right). With laugh-out-loud observations from award-winning comedy writer Neil Pasricha, The Book of Awesome is filled with smile-inducing moments on every page that make you feel like a kid looking at the world for the first time. Read it and you'll remember all the things there are to feel good about.

Thanks for sending these so quickly and at such a great price! We bought 40 of these books after watching the author's YouTube clip. We've had a teen pregnancy prevention program for 14 years and now the funding is gone and the program is ending. Many people have worked really hard and the loss of the services to teens and families, as well as jobs will be painful and unfortunate. We wanted these AWESOME volunteers and professionals to come to a final meeting that looked at the many, many positives that have come from this program and although we are sad, we've been part of something good. We based the meeting on the author's approach to making a choice to look at what's awesome, what's positive in our life. It's tempting to only see the negative when times are harsh - but the book re-enforces that there are many, many small joys all around us if we choose to see them. It's not a deep, deep philosophical or problem solving book- it's not meant to be-- but it's fun and witty and filled with "oh yeah, you're right!" moments that we can all relate to. It will bring many smiles and help you get back in touch with some of the little things that make you laugh, make you smile, bring a small comfort or the enjoyment of a moment of appreciation. Some of which you maybe haven't noticed in a long time.
