Book Synopsis
A renowned artist shows that hope can be found everywhere--in family, friendships, and even the changing of seasons--through 100+ beautiful illustrations and thoughtful affirmations that capture the magic of self-love and resilience. From celebrating the kindness of strangers to commemorating loss, Lucy Claire Dunbar seeks to warm the heart with every line of her hand-drawn illustrations. In The Book of Gifts, she intertwines some of her most popular artwork with heartfelt affirmations to create an irresistible keepsake and perennially appealing gift. With chapters that cover themes of love, friendship, gratitude, courage, memory, kindness, self-love, and hope, this book reminds us that no matter the challenges we face, there's always joy to be found if we stop to look for it. Lucy's journey as an artist began when she temporarily lost her sight at the age of twenty-one. Lucy's irrepressible hopefulness kept her afloat, and fortunately, most of her vision has since been restored. Now, Lucy draws daily to ensure that she never forgets the gifts that each day has shown her. With The Book of Gifts, Lucy celebrates the optimism and positivity that has gotten her through so much, making it the perfect volume to share with friends, family, a partner, or just yourself.About the Author
Lucy Claire Dunbar is an illustrator and designer based in Oxfordshire who came to prominence by honoring the likes of Taylor Swift, Queen Elizabeth II, and Matthew Perry with art drawn from behind, always leaving the story open for her viewers to interpret for themselves. After being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in her early twenties, Lucy temporarily lost her sight. Once she'd regained it, she made a promise to herself to draw every day. From that commitment came her hugely popular online success. She now has an established and fast-growing social media following and has appeared on Radio 4's Saturday Live and ITV's Lorraine. This is her first book.Dimensions (Overall): 9.0 Inches (H) x 7.5 Inches (W)
