Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️ I went into this read not expecting to relate to a single character. I was intrigued by a good story. I finished reading, feeling both seen and excited to add a new author to my instant buy list. The Bump is about a fantastic gay couple having a baby for the first time. To celebrate, they go on a cross-country baby moon weeks before the baby's delivery date. Biz and Wyatt have mixed feelings about the arrival of the baby. Biz is me if I were a gay Italian man, seven words I never thought I would say. He’s fun, spontaneous, has flawless skin ( I’m assuming ), a fantastic cook. And terrified of the future. Biz’s fear of being a bad dad is so relatable, especially when you are dating Wyatt, someone who is the poster child for responsibility. Outside of wishing I could call Biz up for a good venting session and a pina colada. I experienced every emotion under the sun reading this book. I laughed at Biz’s wildly animated antics, awed at the sweet moments Biz and Wyatt shared, and cried Like a baby when it ended. This book serves as a reminder that love and family come in diverse forms and should be cherished in all its beautiful imperfections. In conclusion, The Bump delivered a captivating story and left a lasting impact, earning its place on my list of must-reads.
