After reading some of the reviews, I was somewhat hesitant about ordering. Even so, already a fan of the stories, I went ahead and purchased this particular set. I am extremely pleased that I did so. This is an excellent box set of hardback books that looks exactly as advertised. Nice book cover artwork… good quality hardbacks… at a great price.

I was hesitant to order this set based on past reviewers stating that the version received was not as pictured. I contacted Target through chat and they did not have any information to address this concern. I ordered anyway, and am happy to say that Target must have updated the item because I received exactly what was pictured. I cannot comment on the quality of the paper or binding or illustrations or anything else inside because the boxed set is shrink wrapped and I am giving it as a gift. The four star rating is due to this fact, and additionally because the box corner is crunched, presumably during shipping, and now I have to decide if it is worth pursuing a replacement.

This is NOT as pictured. I specifically wanted the book covers as pictured in the photo and bought them as a gift, only to discover that the photo on the website does not match the books at all. I am extremely disappointed and the photo should be taken down.

I wanted to buy this set for my niece's birthday, but searched all over the internet to find the set with the original drawings on the book jackets. This current set has new, cartoon-like artwork on the book covers. I don't mind them, but they are very different than the original set. I was so happy to see this set available here, and the image online showed the original covers, with the dark purple/plum box and unicorn on the front. So, I was disappointed when the books came and I saw that it was the new set, with the cartoony drawings. It's not that big of a deal, and I am still giving these as a gift to my niece since the stories are the same, but I was still disappointed that the picture online did NOT match the item that was sent to me. So Target, please update the picture so it matches the item you are selling.
