About the Book
When Duncan arrives at school one morning, he finds a stack of letters, one from each of his crayons, complaining about how he uses them. Kids can imagine their own conversations with crayons with this picture book by Daywalt and "New York Times"-bestselling illustrator Jeffers. Full color.Book Synopsis
The hilarious, colorful #1 New York Times bestselling phenomenon that every kid wants! Gift a copy to someone you love today.Poor Duncan just wants to color. But when he opens his box of crayons, he finds only letters, all saying the same thing: His crayons have had enough! They quit! Blue crayon needs a break from coloring all those bodies of water. Black crayon wants to be used for more than just outlining. And Orange and Yellow are no longer speaking--each believes he is the true color of the sun. What can Duncan possibly do to appease all of the crayons and get them back to doing what they do best? With giggle-inducing text from Drew Daywalt and bold and bright illustrations from Oliver Jeffers, The Day the Crayons Quit is the perfect gift for new parents, baby showers, back-to-school, or any time of year! Perfect for fans of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Sciezka and Lane Smith. Such a fun and sweet book for little boys especially… would not recommend for kids younger than Kindergarten though. It has quickly become my Grandson’s favorite book! I love the storyline and especially the illustrations. Great job!!!

Maybe for older kids
Age provided of 0 to 3 seems inappropriate. Some of the letters started with ‘I’m going to kill you if… ‘ other comments of ‘I HATE when you. ‘ The idea is sweet but talking to small children could probably be conveyed in a way you get the point across and not resort to this type wording. Not appropriate for my little guy. It will be going back.

ANY AGE PERSON WILL LOVE THIS BOOK!
I wanted to read a book to my 3-year old grandson and by chance, (when I reached into the big messy basket of books) I pulled this book out. I read it to him twice - the 2nd time, I read it with all the expression I felt, would've been their tone. HE LOVED IT EVEN MORE! And....so did I! Thank you Drew Daywalt, for writing such a WONDERFUL book, for children- even the 72-year olds!

Great Purchase!
Cute for younger kids. It’s a fun read aloud book. It’s easy for kids to understand and follow along. The “yellow” page is a bit hard to read due to the color, but doesn’t keep us from loving it!

Adorable book, ripped cover
I bought this book to give to my nephew for Christmas. Ordered online to pick up at my local Target. Sadly, once I got home, I noticed that the removable cover had a serious rip on the spine. I'd rate this higher but the lack of care in handling the book has me disappointed.

Book was cute but had to do an even exchange.
The only thing I disliked was when I picked up my order, I got home and realized the front cover was cut. It looked like it was close to the opening of the box and someone cut too deep with a box cutter. Now I know the pickers are too busy trying to fill orders as fast as they can. But maybe the stockers could be a little more mindful of when they’re cutting open the boxes.
