Shin Maeng is a Korean American illustrator living in bonnie Scotland. Most books do not so carefully and gently walk people thru the Jewish expectation of a delivering Messiah, and particularly in a way that emphasizes how the stories of God's people were and are passed down, in time, from generation to generation--and in the middle of a generation. This is a great book for adults to be reminded of who Jesus is, but also for parents to gain a language for talking about the long story of God's love (and the invitation of God's love) for young and old in the middle of a world that is also painful and in need of hope for deliverance into abundant life. 10/10 recommend.

What a powerful telling of the story of Jesus. It’s both rooted in biblical study and reimagined for an appropriate children aged story. The visuals are stunning and eye popping. Love that we added this to our kids libraries, and can’t wait to share this with our church’s children this Christmas season.
