I couldn't be happier with my purchase of this book for planning my 2024 vacations. It's not your typical travel guide-it's a delightful journey through some amazing U.S. destinations.
What sets this book apart is its storytelling approach. Instead of just listing places to visit, it weaves captivating stories about each destination. It's a refreshing change from the usual laundry list of attractions.
I especially loved the inclusion of off-the-beaten-path locations alongside the main attractions. It's perfect for those seeking unique experiences and hidden gems. This book also suggests places for a relaxing evening, which adds a wonderful touch to your travel plans.

I loved this book. It is unlike any travel book for road-trips I have run across. I really liked the Route 66 part having lived on Route 66 in Missouri and Kansas. There were still things the book should me despite having traveled its route all my life. I am in the Appalachian Mountains now and this part of the book was also really enjoyable to me. I found several parts of this trip I want to do in stricking distance from my home for daily road trips. I had made a similar trip on the southern route offered in the book and wish I would had this book when I did. I just can.t say enough good things about this book. It is so well written, researched, and presented. I highly recommend this book!
