About the Author
GUY NEAVE is Professor of Comparative Higher Education Policy Studies at the Centre for Higher Education Policy Studies of Twente University, The Netherlands, and Director of Research at the International Association of Universities, Paris, France. Prior to returning to France in 1990, he was the Professor of Comparative Education at the University of London Institute of Education, UK. Guy Neave has written extensively on higher education policy in Western Europe.KJELL BLÜCKERT is Research Secretary at The Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation. With an earned doctorate in Church History from Uppsala University, Sweden, his research area has been contemporary history and nationalism. Since 2000 he has been working at The Humanities and Social Sciences Donation in the Bank of Sweden Foundation, which finances larger interdisciplinary research projects.
THORSTEN NYBOM is Professor of History at Orebro University, Sweden. In 1997, together with Martin Trow, he publishedThe University and Society: Essays on the Social Role of Research and Higher Education (London, Jessica Kingsley).
