Book Synopsis
Alex has always been angry! Why? She's not sure, but she hates her life and wants it to be better, or at least like other kids lives. But when Alex wakes up in a field of grass everything changes. Meeting the Fairy Queen, she learns about nature from the inside out and even learns cool things like how to shrink herself to the size of a full stop. As Alex finds the love within nature, her life begins to change and as her anger melts away, she discovers she is much stronger than she ever knew!
Review Quotes
I found The Gatekeeper to be enthralling and captivating.
This book is AMAZING! A thoroughly enjoyable page-turner. I was intrigued to find out what was next. Everyone, young or old, can take something terrific from this book. Strong character development and ideals reinforce the connection to nature and earth. Young and old can learn some valuable lessons.
Vivid imagery encompasses a range of emotions, allowing me to connect to the valuable lessons in The Gatekeeper. The multiple metaphors and similes spread throughout the book help to envision the characters' thoughts, feelings and surroundings.
I give it 10 out of 10 stars.

Fall in love with this flawed heroine who embodies all the confusion and anger brought on by her unwillingness to accept the tribulations of growing up in today's world yet still yearns for the beauty and innocence she encounters on her journey. A superbly crafted story that will cleverly pull you into Alex' world.
Cynthia Roberts
This lovely book tells the story of a sad little girl who transformed her life from Rags to Nature. Through fantasy, nature and her love of trees, she discovers powerful tools to enrich her life.

Meet a very young Lisbeth Solander, Alice Liddell, Treebeard's brother and a beautiful spotless hound. A book that would provide the most wonderful escape for a young girl wrapped in a cosy blanket, by the fire, on a wet winter's day with a plate of Vegemite soldiers.
Grant Roberts
Tracing the growing up of a young girl, this endearing story echoes the trials and tribulations of many in the teens to twenties category where so much is unknown, yet treasures await. A book for all ages.

In an era of sci-fi, AI and all things weird and wonderful, this story took me into the world of nature. Talking dogs, fairy queens, wombats and trees spirited me away to a magical place of generosity and kindness where I learned that trees have feelings, love is everywhere, and it is up to us humans to heal our world. A different read, and good!
