The Hobbit: Trilogy (Extended Edition) (Blu-ray)

While the content is great (the additional scenes improve the movies a little bit, mostly the last movie), the actual materials are extremely flimsy and cheap, especially compared to the Lord of the Ring extended blu-ray box set. The little “pages” the DVDs are nestled into pop out way too easily, and the cases for each movie are insanely thin, not to mention the box itself (it’s more of a paper sleeve than a box, not even even as thick as cardboard, so the corners are bent easily). Do not expect the same quality as other box sets.

The extended version of these films with the beautiful scenes in BluRay high definition are amazing. The description of the item said it came with Ultraviolet versions of the movies, though, but the only movie that had a code for redeeming that was the third film (The Battle of the Five Armys). I only docked one star for that, because the extended and new scenes were great to see.

Unfortunately, this newer version of the box set does not contain any digital codes, and the box is not a hard cover like the original.

This item was exactly what I wanted! It was ready in less than one day, definitely the way to shop during Christmas time!!

Shopping online is nice since we live so far out of the way of shopping.

I've look all over to find this extended blu-ray version and found the best price at Target. It's a Christmas gift for my husband who will be delighted! Thank you!

Waited a long time for the extended editions on blu-ray and loved every minute of it! The extra scenes and high quality picture/sound are worth every penny. Targets price was comparable or less than anywhere else I looked.
