The Hurt Locker (DVD)

Recommended watch for seeing what can occur in the battle front for EOD...but keep in mind portrayed through Hollywood standards. Nonetheless, entertaining and good acting.

One of the most realistic war movies about an army EOD specialist. To tell you the truth, this is now my all time favorite movie.

This movie is the best war movie that I have seen since Steven Speilberg's Saving Private Ryan. The realism is insane and the director puts you right there with the E.O.D squad. An in-depth look at what our troops have to go through everyday in Iraq. Wars used to fought with guns and people but now it is fought with bombs and drones.

Make that about 3.9 stars. What was such a disappointment to me was when I opened the jewel box and discovered it to be void of any contents except for the Blu-Ray disc. There was not pamplet, booklet, or any slip of paper inside the box. Just the anti-theft "magnet", and the disc. Not even the disclaimer usually accompanying some other Blu-Rays to warn viewers it might take some time for the disc to load depending on their particular player and its' software version. NOT EVEN THAT! I could have bought one elsewhere that had a "book" for the exact same price. But I didn't. Next time I'll know. The movie received rave reviews and was lauded as a probable Academy Award winner. Maybe, maybe not. It was technically a thriller. As described, not a war movie, or a political statement. Thank God for that! Rent it before buying, you might be expecting something quite different.
