The Jesse Tree for Families - by Colleen Pressprich (Paperback)

What a beautiful book this is! It's thoughtfully created, beautifully illustrated, and can be useful on a variety of levels as children grow and family dynamics change. Our family has prayed a Jesse Tree for many years, but I don't know that I've found a resource that serves a family in as many stages as this one does. For younger kids, you might just read each entry's initial reflection. Parents can invite older children to look up the relevant Bible verses on their own. A whole family discussion can be had over the information in the Note to Parents and the questions that follow. One year you might choose to use one of these elements consistently, another year what you use might depend on the day. I'm looking forward to using this book with my family this year, with five kids ages 3-13. We have a Jesse Tree already, so don't need the included ornaments. But who knows--in another couple of years, we may find a use for these as well. They're gorgeous, so it feels a waste to leave them in the book. Highly recommend!
