I bought this motion light for my basement steps. It works just fine, but I have to keep replacing the batteries.

Hello Jo2024 The motion sensor is an active circuit so there is a small constant drain as it watches for movement. If you have pets who can negotiate the basement stairs without the light, you might try aiming the light and sensor a little higher, so it only activates for you.
