I haven't been able to find this on T.V. so after trying to explain cabin fever to my young adult son, I bought it. I was a little nervous by the low price but what a delight that the movie is perfect! The same scary, disturbing, and haunting movie I know and love! Shipping was super fast.

I HAVE WATCHED THIS MOVIE SO MANY TIMES I ACTUALLY WATCHED MY VIDEO TAPE OF THIS SO MANY TIMES THAT IT PRACTICALLY WOULDNT REWIND ANYMORE. I READ STEPHEN KINGS BOOK OF THE SHINNING LAST WINTER I HAVE TO SAY STANLEY KUBRICK DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF FOLLOWING KINGS BOOK ( JUST MY OPINION I KNOW OTHERS WOULD DISAGREE) THIS DVD HAS ONE SPECIAL FEATURE THE MAKING OF THE SHINNING. ITS A FULL SCREEN VERSION OF THE FILM JUST LIKE MY VIDEO TAPE HAD BEEN YEARS AGO. THIS MOVIE HAS A VERY SECLUDED ALMOST CABIN FEVER FEEL TO IT. I LOVE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER WHEN ITS SNOWING OUTSIDE. THE MOVIE STARS JACK NICHOLSON AS JACK TORRANCE THE WINTER CARE TAKER FOR THE OVER LOOK HOTEL AND SHELLEY DUVALL AS JACKS SOME WHAT HOMELY WIFE AND DANNY LLOYD AS JACKS SON DANNY. THE STORY FOLLOWS JACK AND HIS FAMILY AS THEY TAKE CARE OF THE OVER LOOK HOTEL FOR THE WINTER AND CABIN FEVER STARTS TO SET IN GHOTS FROM THE HOTEL BEGIN TO APPEAR. I LOVE THE LINES THAT JACK NIHOLSON HAS IN THIS MOVIE. ONE OF MY FAVORITES IS WHEN JACK IS BUSTING IN THE DOOR WITH AN AXE... ": WENDY I'M HOME"! AND MY OTHER FAVORITE " LITTLE PIGS LITTLE PIGS LET ME COME IN, NOT BY THE HAIR OF YOUR CHINNY CHIN CHIN THEN I'LL HUFF AND I'LL PUFF AND I'LLBLOW YOUR HOUSE IN" AS JACK BREAKS THROUGH THE DOOR, " OR HOW ABOUT THE PART WHERE SHELLEY DUVALL IS SWINGING AT JACK WITH THE BASEBALL BAT " DONT HURT ME"! -SHELLEY DUVALL JACKS RESPONSE " WENDY I'M NOT GONNA HURT YA YOU DIDNT LET MW FINISH MY SENTENCE I SAID I'M NOT GONNA HURT YA!
