About the Author
Ernest Kurtz is the author of Not-God: A History of Alcoholics Anonymous; A.A.: The Story; and Shame and Guilt. He held a Ph.D. in the history of American civilization from Harvard and was affiliated with the Center for Self-Help Research at the University of Michigan. He died in 2015. Katherine Ketcham has been writing nonfiction books for forty years. Her work has been published in seventeen foreign languages and has sold nearly two million copies. She founded and serves on the board of a grassroots nonprofit organization called Trilogy Recovery Community, which helps youth and their family members dealing with alcohol and other drug problems.
