Insul-Bright is a versatile, insulating lining trusted by sewists and crafters for temperature-sensitive projects around the home. This needle-punched polyester material features a reflective, metalized film that resists both radiant heat and cold—making it ideal for practical, gift-worthy creations like pot holders, oven mitts, casserole covers, tea cozies, and more.

Designed for function and safety, Insul-Bright is breathable, durable, and easy to sew. The unique construction—polyester fibers needle-punched through a reflective film—ensures long-lasting performance that won’t break down with washing or everyday use. The reflective layer directs heat or cold energy back to its source, while the polyester fibers resist heat conduction.

For added protection when working with high-heat items, we recommend layering Insul-Bright with cotton batting to absorb steam vapor. This is especially important for projects like pot holders or oven mitts, where condensation may occur when a hot item meets cooler air.

Please note: Insul-Bright is not microwave safe and should never be placed directly in an oven or microwave.

Insul-Bright is ideal for projects like soft lunch sacks, grocery totes, oven mitts, casserole covers, and even ironing board covers. The soft-crinkle noise it makes also makes it ideal for use in soft books for children.

Pre-Wash & Care Instructions:
Note that pre-washing is optional. Insul-Bright will not shrink.
To pre-wash (if desired): hand soak in mild detergent for 20 minutes, rinse thoroughly, gently squeeze (do not wring), and lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low.
Once quilted, machine wash & dry as usual.
