Book Synopsis
Kristine Hahn (1973- ) is a fourth generation Californian, teacher, and poet living on the northern California coast. Her poetry is infused with the remote coastal world of her life. Whether walking deep in redwood forests, swimming in wild waters, or finding her way as a mother, she is always questioning and absorbing the deepest sense of the moment. Hahn works as a reading specialist in a small rural elementary school where many students are second language learners and socio-economically disadvantaged. She promotes the reading and writing of poetry to her students in the same way she was gifted the joy of working with words as a young child herself. Things That Do Not Touch the Earth is Hahn's first book of poetry.
