Book Synopsis

Bearded, bad-boy barber Knox prefers to live his life the way he takes his coffee: Alone. Unless you count his basset hound, Waylon.

Knox doesn't tolerate drama, even when it comes in the form of a stranded runaway bride.

Naomi wasn't just running away from her wedding. She was riding to the rescue of her estranged twin to Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned way...with fists and beer. Usually in that order.

Too bad for Naomi her evil twin hasn't changed at all. After helping herself to Naomi's car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected. The niece Naomi didn't know she had. Now she's stuck in town with no car, no job, no plan, and no home with an 11-year-old going on thirty to take care of.

There's a reason Knox doesn't do complications or high-maintenance women, especially not the romantic ones. But since Naomi's life imploded right in front of him, the least he can do is help her out of her jam. And just as soon as she stops getting into new trouble he can leave her alone and get back to his peaceful, solitary life.

At least, that's the plan until the trouble turns to real danger.

I’m usually a picky person when it comes to reading books but I couldn’t put this book down. I read it in 2 days when I had the free time. Yes the little quotes at the bottom kind of give it away but there were some plot twists that It truly didn’t even matter. Personal ratings: 4.5/5 - easiness to read 4.8/5 - story 3.0/5 - spiciness Overall rating: 4.1/5

Although this is a fairly long read, I read it within 4 days after work. Some are not fond of this type of romance novel, but I feel in love with Knox Morgan.

I don’t understand how this book has such a high rating. I liked some of the story line, but I hated the way Knox was portrayed in a sexually demeaning manor. The book was poorly written and the lack of editing had me rereading sentences trying to figure out what they were trying to say. It was annoying.

4.7★/ 17+/2 This book was crazy good! The ONLY reason for it not being a five star is for the bad drug guy with daddy issues… He should’ve been pew pewed (IMO). Also, Knox is the freakin’ best! Oh, and what kind of name is Waylay? I hated that! Anyways, READ THE BOOK!!! You’ll enjoy it.

Loved it. Had a really hard time putting it down but I have a family so haha. It was cute and passionate and emotional. It was longer than a lot of romance books but it was worth it.

Ehhhhh. Does not live up to the hype. So many of her other books are so much better. This one was filled with a lot that was not needed/filled the book unnecessarily and made it way longer than needed. I did like the characters and story but, just eh overall

Predictable

The writing wasn’t terrible and the characters are “likeable” but this book was slow and hard to binge. It didn’t hold my interest because it was so cliche. Man is falling for woman but won’t let himself even though we know how it’ll end. Also, the name Waylay just bothered me too much but that’s my personal opinion.

Absolutely wonderful book and a definite page turner. I find myself far from a desperate housewife, and throughly enjoyed this plot line. Was it predicable? Yeah sure, but it was also good!

300 pages too long

et us begin with this. The size of the book? Ridiculous. Because when you read the first 98-150 pages, you literally can’t wait for it to end. It’s one of those books that people stop reading or they make themselves finish bc they know there HAS to be something better!! So let’s talk about the names. A kid named WAYLAY and a dog named WAYLON. Ugh. Then, it got a little better THEN THE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE AWFUL SUx SCENES that I THINK a 12 year old wrote. I mean TERRIBLE CRINGY AND SOOOO LAME. If I had to read this dude say “baby” one more time to his not girlfriend girlfriend…..the descriptors of the sux. Huge turn off and ignorant writing. But I pushed through while waiting for my other new books. I don’t hate romance but I am not a desperate housewife or an 80 year old grandma. This was awful. I could’ve made this book into a 200 page halfway decent book by getting rid of all the dumb extra fluff, change the character names and make people have normal reactions to the things that happened in their lives. I would NOT recommend unless you don’t need your time to mean something. Also. Books where people have tons of money, give homes away on a whim, where did this notion come from? This doesn’t happen. My husband hates Virgin River and I find myself laughing about it also. I feel like this could be the next virgin river hit or hallmark movie-minus the crude sux scenes.
