About the Book

"Willow Rosetti loves her job as a meteorologist - even if her part-time hours at Channel 5 leave her struggling to pay her bills. She would never leave her family, friends, and the tight-knit community of Sunshine Bay. But she may not have a choice if the rumor at work is true - that Bennett Broadcasting Group is divesting their assets, including her TV station. Panicked at the thought, Willow tells her coworkers she is related to a famous actress and can bring her in as the first guest on Good Morning, Sunshine! Not willing to let them down, she does the unthinkable and goes behind her family's back to call her estranged aunt, actress Camilla Monroe. Willow has never met Camilla and has no idea why her family disowned her, but she hopes Camilla could be exactly what they need to save the station. Camilla Monroe is auditioning for a role in New York, up against three actresses in their twenties. When she hears that her niece is calling, she fears the worst - that her secret has come out. She doesn't know if she can land this part to revive her career or whether she has the courage to return home after all these years and help Willow. Noah Elliot, the acting CEO of Bennett Broadcasting, arrives in town but he can't be swayed from the idea that channel 5 should be closed ASAP. However, Willow is determined to show him that the station is worth saving for the talented people who work there"--

Book Synopsis

From a USA Today bestselling author, a woman who seeks out her estranged aunt, revealing secrets her family has kept hidden--a story full of family, romance, and self-discovery.

Nothing gets Willow Rosetti down. She adores everything about her life in Sunshine Bay, particularly the close proximity to her beloved family and her job as a meteorologist. So when she finds out Channel 5 may close and she and her coworkers will be out of work, she goes behind her family's back to call her estranged aunt, a famous actress. Willow has never met her aunt and has no idea why her family disowned her, but she's hopeful Camilla can deliver the ratings they need to convince Noah Elliot, the station's gorgeous and grumpy owner, to save Channel 5.

When Camilla Monroe learns her niece Willow is trying to contact her, she fears the worst--that her secret has finally come out. Distracted, she doesn't see the e-bike in the road. Now a case of amnesia has Camilla back in Sunshine Bay, and she's getting Willow into one mess after another.
With a little bit of scheming and a whole lot of heart, this unlikely duo might just have the summer of a lifetime, saving the station, healing their fractured family, and even paving the way for love.

Willow Rosetti. She is positivity personified but even she can't make her beloved Channel 5 stay on the air. Trying to keep the station solvent while dealing with her family, her old/new boyfriend, his sister, and all manner of things, she is maxed. This story was somewhat of a Judy Garland/Mickey Rooney 'Let's put on a show' throw back as the book began, and I wasn't sure I'd like it. Then, the magic happened and the story opened up for me! What a wonderful premise; get your movie star aunt to come to help get the station back on the top of the ratings...then oops...that doesn't happen...due to circumstances beyond anyone's control. Then you find out 'your' friend who is a boy when you were both 15, is now the owner of the station and he wants to sell...until you talk him into listening to you...kind of. A delightful romp through a summer of crazy happenings. A very easy read and a fulfilling story. The ending is heart melting. Sometimes secrets are kept too long and can cause difficulties in families. I'm glad this one worked out...for everyone. 4.5 stars since the beginning dragged a bit for me. All in all a satisfying read.
