Q: Are these train tracks compatible with IKEA Lillabo train set?

A: We have this train and also an IKEA wooden train and the pieces don’t fit together very well. The IKEA connectors are slightly bigger and you have to pound on them to get the two brands to connect.

A: There is a small screw on top of the train right above the light. That blue piece comes off and that’s where the batteries go.

Poorly designed. The rubber wheels on the engine wore out about a month after he got it for his birthday. Which means the engine needs help getting up the track. Even brand new the engine barely had enough power to pull both log cars up. The "y" splits need atleast 1 more otherwise the engine gets stuck in a never ending loop. The "y" pieces also don't line up with the other pieces, making the train derail. The pieces fit so loosely, and the angles aren't quite right on the curved pieces that it gets hung up.the worst part? Our kid loves the heck out of this toy, and continues to play with it until he gets so mad he stops playing with it. Again and again.

Wooden tracks don’t stay together so the train can’t stay on the tracks. The train cannot go up the ramps only down. I wish I can return this! I don’t believe the price for this train track is worth it.

My 2.5 year old loves it! It was pretty easy to set up and will definitely survive how rough he is. Very good quality I highly recommend this. My son and his older cousins 3 and 6 enjoyed it.

I bought it for my 2 and a half year old son and he really enjoys seeing the train go by on all the tracks, he always wants to pass by playing with it, I liked the implementation of the bridge they put in, although the train has a hard time going up it, you have to give it a push

Such a winner! I really wanted to get my nephew a very similar train set from Hape that is $150 but just couldn’t swing it this year. I found this one and they LOVED it. My nephews are 2.5 and 4.5 and it was their favorite toy at Christmas. My SIL says they still play with it daily. Everyone loves that it is all self contained which is the reason I loved it too. Just buy it.

This set is overall fantastic. It provides so many options for different configurations and is a great value with all the track, train, and bridge pieces included. We don't use the house, trees, or helicopter much, but even without the extras you still get so much versatility in one, easy to store set. My son likes us designing the track so that the train goes under the bridges and we love finding new patterns for assembling the track. Its not perfect - with frequent use the batteries only last 2-3 days, they are a bit difficult to remove from the compartment, and our train no longer climbs the tracks and frequently gets stuck on all turns after about 2 months of daily use (we gave this to our 2.5 year old for Christmas). I wish the rear wheel on the train was made of a more durable grooved material (they have worn completely smooth), and would love to be able to buy a replacement train or wheels. However considering what the quality toy trains (Brio, M&D) cost, I'm extremely happy with this set and eagerly recommend it to families with young kids. We haven't tried mixing it with other sets yet but it definitely looks compatible.

My toddler (3) loves this set. My only complaint is that we could not get the train engine to work. The light turns on, but the train engine goes no where. Not a deal breaker for us. Our daughter still loves playing with it, but frustrating nonetheless.

My 2.5 year old loves this train set! She legitimately plays with it every day. I love that you can store all the pieces in the container and it can also be used as part of the tracks. As a mom with never ending toys, the storage is what sold me most because I’m always struggling with finding how to store stuff efficiently. Highly recommend!
