Mostly awesome play experience
This is a cute little train set we purchased for my grand daguhter's 2ng birthday. I few aspects are really neat here - all in one set with some train, tracks, bridges, decor and storage bin. I espcially love that the top and bottom of the storage container double as track setup pieces for some extra thrill - perfect! I would qualify this set as a beginner set offering a value bundle to try out and see how you feel about trains. If you fall in love, you are going to want something more substantial and likely from a different brand. The track pieces here connect in a somewhat imperfect, loose way. Trains do not quite roll smoothly on the tracks. You end up wishing for a more substantial, better quality, more extensive setup eventually. This is my adult take on it having raised five of my own children and now enjoying some play time with my grandbaby. My little granddaughter has not idea about the bigger, better setups and thinks this is the coolest set ever. She enjoys it thoroughly and with a precious smile on her face every single time!

Not worth it
I don't get why this has such a high star rating. We're missing at least one piece as all the other reviews have noted and the box came weirdly dirty on the inside. The pieces don't stay together well and the train cannot go around any curves without getting stuck. Gigglescape has been hit or miss, but this one is really disappointing.

Get what yoy pay for.
Cheap quality and doesn’t stay together. Only came with one train and it doesn’t stay on the tracks well when pushed and when pushed along the tracks come apart extremely easily but are too hard to get together for my child to set it back up. It leads to a lot of frustration for the child. Will be returning.

The train immediately smelled like a chemical fire once turned on and will not work regardless of new batteries. Can’t buy just a train replacement so it’s a waste of money. It also isn’t a sturdy track so even if you have the track set up, the trains you push won’t stay on because it isn’t seamless.

Missing half the items
Purchased at Target S Colorado Springs on 12/3. Upon opening the item at home, we found the following items were missing: Crossing gate Traffic sign Electric engine 1 plastic track piece Helicopter Truck 4 train cars If we at least the train and engine, I'd let the other stuff go, but without those, it's pointless. Needless to say it's going back.

A lot to be desired.
I wanted to like this set, but I don’t. My 3 year has a lot of issues with the on/off switch because for some reason there’s a reverse option. To be able to turn it off the switch needs to go in the middle which is hard for a young one to do. He often wants to stop it so he can use the crane and take off the cargo. When he try’s to turn it off he accidentally switches it to reverse and it causes a lot of frustration. I wish the pieces fit a little more snug so they don’t disconnect quite as easily. I’m not sure if that’s how all wooden train sets are since this is our first one. Also the train struggles to go up hill backwards so my child has to push it up the hill before it will continue moving. The church/ house is very skinny in width and easily knocked over. My child also wants to take the blue house out and I’m not sure if that’s an option.

I had to write a review for this train set because it impressed me so much. I bought it on a whim for my train-obsessed almost two-year old to keep at my parent’s vacation home. Incredible quality, value, versatility, and portability. I LOVE that the carrying case doubles as part of the track set up. It’s genius! And the motorized train works wayyyy better than the one that my son has at home. He’s obsessed and can play with it for long periods of time without getting bored of it. MUST BUY!

Decent set, needs variety, engine wears out quickly
I got this set to see if trains are something my 3 year old daughter would like and she loves it. The locomotive can run on carpet as well as the track so that has been entertaining. The cons are that the locomotive is hard to turn off for a 3 yr old so its not uncommon for us to walk in to find it still running. It also has lost the ability to climb the track hills, possibly because the rubber on the back wheels have worn down, maybe because the engine/gears have worn. Its only been 2-3 weeks since we got it. There also isnt a whole lot of variety in track layout that you can do so additional pieces will be necessary for us.
