Book Synopsis
Artemis Fowl meets Dogman in the first book of this madcap graphic novel series following factions of sneaky, double-crossing fairies who will do anything for control of their world, The Garden. Everyone knows that fairies are gentle, beautiful, and kind creatures who live in flowers and dress in pastels, right? WRONG! Fairies are horrible, disgusting backstabbers constantly at war with each other for power and control. They're not even magical for pete's sake. And then there's Pip, a cheeky, impulsive tree fairy who could give two hoots about power and is really just looking for a party. But after being tasked with delivering an important message to the higher ups at the top of the tree, she's thrown into a breakneck adventure involving a dubious ancient prophecy, epic acorn-based warfare, and sinister plots that could alter the balance of power in The Garden for good. Worst of all, if she's not careful, she might just emerge a hero. Too bad Pip is never careful. . .Review Quotes
"Unfairies is a wild, witty adventure. Pip and his scrappy crew of fairy misfits set off on an epic (and totally ridiculous) quest--packed with box fights, bug battles, and bonkers twists at every turn. The artwork is vibrant, alive, detailed in all the right places, and still bursting with energy and motion. Hilarious, irreverent, and endlessly charming--Unfairies is everything you want in a graphic novel and more. We loved every page." --Dan & Jason, creators of Barb the Last Berzerker and Blue, Barry & Pancakes "You'll be wowed when you step into [this] bustling, offbeat, technicolor universe. Unfairies is anarchy at its best. The dialogue is hilarious, the story is pacy and the illustrations are bursting with energy. Unfairies is enviably bonkers and I loved it. ―Sheena Dempsey, bestselling author of Pablo and Splash "I loved everything about this book. It's just SO funny and it looks brilliant. Move over Tinkerbell, there's a new favorite fairy in town. ―Rob Biddulph, bestselling author of Peanut Jones and the Illustrated City
About the Author
Huw Aaron is an award-winning author and illustrator from Wales.
