A: I think you would not have to put the knife holder on the cart. I would have to remove mine to see the size of the holes, but I think you could shave and/or cut off the ends of the pegs that hold the knife holder on the cart and then insert the pegs in the holes to disguise the holes. Having put my cart together more than a year ago, I don't remember whether the towel rack came assembled already. It appears to be part of the structure that supports the top of the cart and keeps the legs parallel.

A: The towel rack is pre-assembled to the unit top. As for the knife block, this does not need to be assembled but do note this unit is pre-drilled for assembly purposes.

Nice, but that's not a paper towel holder
The description on the Target site said it had a " paper towel holder", but that's inaccurate. It's a non removable hand or dish towel bar. So that was disappointing, it was one of the main reasons I picked this model. But it is well made and very sturdy.

Looks nice, but casters broke off quickly
Bought this in December 2019 as a holiday deal for just under $77 plus tax. Item looks nice and is functional, or more correctly was functional. Within a year one caster broke off and soon thereafter another broke off. I contacted the manufacturer and was quoted $30 for replacement casters. Highway robbery that a small part which from the Q&A seems to break off frequently and they want that much for replacements.

I am not someone who can assemble things easily but this was very easy for me to do. All the parts were there and the most difficult part was aligning everything before I screwed in the wood screws with the hex wrench included in the box. Very nice looking wooden cart and sturdy too. I didn't attach the knife box and the holes for those screws aren't that noticeable.
