Still Packed in Broth?
I love this canned chicken, which is the only brand I can find that is packed in chicken broth. The water-packed brands are dry. The cans I'm seeing now are packed in water now. Have you gone water-packed? If so, I'll stop buying Valley Fresh brand and you now are exactly like all other brands.

i am very happy with this product. i keep buying it and it is consistently good. i make chicken salad sandwiches when the weather is too hot to cook in the kitchen. then today it was cooler and i made chicken soup, it was delicious. i love the fact its already cooked and ready to use. plus the broth makes it great for soups. it is certified by american heart association to be heart healthy which is great as i watch my salt intake.

I I buy this chicken by the dozen cans at a time. have used the dark and white chicken for about 13 years now I am ALWAYS ON A KETO diet. I use it to make my own chicken salad so there is NO sugar in it.

Recommended Emergency Rations - great quality years later!
I had added this product as a protein source to my "earthquake" emergency pantry 10 years ago. I dice the meat smaller and use it in sandwiches, soups, and casseroles, and it's been a monthly staple for decades. Now I find with the lockdowns and fire evacuations, I've been relying more and more on my emergency stores to make complete meals. This is an item that I failed to rotate with new purchases. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, after 10 years in storage, this product was just as good as freshly purchased cans. The meat had not degraded in texture, color, or taste. I love the dark/light mix and will restock with more of these as soon as I can find access to them.

Not as good as other brand

Outrageous flavor

Not my 1st choice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This white and dark chicken tasted a little weird. Hard to pinpoint the exact word to describe the taste but my kids loved it. Definitely not my first choice. I added this to a bed of lettuce with mayo and tomatoes. Maybe I should have repurposed it better.

I would buy again for chicken salad.

Nice item for recipes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually don't like dark meat chicken, but the combination or dark and white meat tasted good. I mixed some barbeque sauce in with the chicken, quickly heated it and put it on a bun for a quick bbq chicken sandwich. The chicken was a bit on the salty side, but added to the bbq sauce it tasted very savory. I would prefer to use the white meat chicken, but would use this again.

I'm not a fan of dark chicken

Although I really like the Valley Fresh Brand, I wasn't real fond of this particular flavor. I'm not a big fan of dark meat. Although I can say, this did have a pretty good flavor and texture for dark meat.

Since I prefer white meat, I would not buy this one again.

I buy this product occasionally
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Convenient size for snacks or small meals, but I prefer all white over white/dark mix. If I do use this, I mix with another just white meat for dishes like casseroles, enchiladas, chicken salad, etc. It saves a lot of time over cooking, cooling, chopping chicken from raw.

I would purchase this product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Another surprise from Valley Fresh. The white and dark meat chicken was surprisingly delicious. I was most wary of this combo but it tasted great. I added the meat to a salad. It gave me the protein I need. I did season the chicken with garlic powder & some hot pepper flakes. The result was very tasty & preparation was hassle free. I would recommend this product. Great idea for hurricane season.
