Q: I have a Victrola Kingfield, and recently purchased one of the small vinyl records. I noticed that this record player has a 45 adapter, but am unsure how to use it. Any advice? Thanks! -New to Vinyl

submitted by AG415 - 1 month ago
  • A: Hi AG415, thanks for reaching out about Victrola The Kingfield Bluetooth Record Player Shelf System with Bookshelf Speakers. Welcome to the wonderful world of vinyl! It's great you're exploring different types of records. You're absolutely right that the Victrola Kingfield comes with a 45 adapter, and it's essential for playing those "small vinyl records" you mentioned. These are commonly known as 7-inch singles and they almost always have a larger center hole than a standard 12-inch LP (Long Play) record. This large hole was originally designed for jukeboxes. Here's how to use the 45 adapter on your Victrola Kingfield: 1. Locate the 45 Adapter: Your Victrola Kingfield likely has a small, often plastic, circular disc that sits on the spindle (the center post) of the turntable, or it might be stored in a little slot near the platter. This is your 45 adapter. 2. Place the Adapter on the Turntable: Take the 45 adapter and place it directly over the main spindle in the center of your record player's platter. It should fit snugly over the spindle and essentially make the spindle wider, filling the large center hole of your 7-inch record. 3. Set the Speed to 45 RPM: Look for the speed selector switch on your Victrola Kingfield. This is usually a small switch or knob near the tonearm. Change the speed setting from 33 1/3 RPM (for LPs) to 45 RPM. This is crucial, as 7-inch singles are designed to be played at this faster speed. 4. Place Your 7-Inch Record: Gently hold your 7-inch vinyl record by the edges (try to avoid touching the grooves). Carefully place the record down onto the platter, so that the large center hole of the record fits over the now-wider spindle created by the 45 adapter. The adapter ensures the record is centered and spins correctly. 5. Begin Playback: Use the cueing lever (if your Kingfield has one) to gently raise the tonearm. Position the stylus (needle) over the outermost groove of the record. Gently lower the tonearm using the cueing lever, or manually place it down carefully. That's it! Your small vinyl record should now play correctly. Why is the 45 adapter necessary? If you try to play a 7-inch record with the large hole directly on the small spindle without the adapter, the record will wobble and not spin consistently. This would lead to poor sound quality (pitch fluctuations, distortion) and could potentially damage your record or even your stylus. The adapter ensures stability and proper playback. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: Is it normal for our Victrola to skip and be wobbly? The record does not spin flat there is a tilt to it. Just checking to see if this is faulty or to be expected. Thank you

submitted by Future oriented - 6 months ago
  • A: Hi Future oriented, thanks for reaching out about Victrola The Kingfield Bluetooth Record Player Shelf System with Bookshelf Speakers A Victrola record player platter may wobble, but this is usually normal and not a cause for concern. However, if the wobbling is causing the vinyl to skip, you can try these fixes: Level the turntable: Make sure the player is on a flat surface. Check the belt: If the turntable is belt-driven, a loose or damaged belt can cause uneven rotation. Clean the record: Clean the vinyl record and the cartridge and stylus. Calibrate the tracking force: Adjust the force that the needle applies to the record's grooves. Check the platter: Inspect the platter for any issues. Replace the cartridge: If the cartridge is defective, try replacing it. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you @influenster and @victrolaplayers for the complimentary system. Setup was quick and easy which l really liked, as l hate complicated setup of devices. Having the duel option to play vinyl records or streaming music via Bluetooth is great. The speakers quality is actually rather good. I’m also loving its great balance of retaining a vintage look with a slightly modern twist. Music is a family passion and this pleases all generation of our family. What’s not to love you get the best of both worlds enjoy music both the classic and modern way in one system.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this record player as a free sample from Influenster to test it and share my honest opinion, and the truth is, it exceeded all my expectations! I had wanted a record player for so long, but the price always held me back. I even collected vinyl records 'for when I finally got one,' and now I can finally enjoy them. The design is beautiful, with built-in speakers that sound great and colors that perfectly match my style. It’s a three-speed player, which lets me play all my records without any issues, and the Bluetooth function is a huge plus that I use all the time to stream music from my phone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product complimentary for my honest review. The Victrola The Kingfield Bluetooth Record Player Shelf System with Bookshelf Speakers is a very nice system. I really like the rustic and sleek design. The soft wood mixed with the light white speakers gives it more personality than traditional all black sound systems. The material is very good quality. You can tell it was crafted with durability in mind. It is also more compact than other sound systems, which allows you to store it in many spaces. It is extremely easy to set up. You plug the speakers into the back of the system and turn it on. Once the system is on you can pair it via Bluetooth to any streaming device. The set up took less than 5 minutes. You can also pick different mm vinyl settings depending on the size of your record album. I have been using the 45mm setting easily. It has a slow to set needle. You can move it gently with the arm and once you want to place it, it will move down slowly. The sound is quite good as well. The max volume is pretty loud. You can control from your phone / streaming device or on the turn table. I thought the entire system was Bluetooth. That was the only downside. You will have cords to connect the speakers to the player itself. Outside of that, I really love this record player! It’s a great edition for people who enjoy listening to vinyls.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got the Victrola Kingfield Bluetooth Record Player with bookshelf speakers and I’m seriously loving it. The setup was super easy, and it looks great—kind of vintage but still modern enough to fit in anywhere. The sound quality is solid for the price, whether I’m playing vinyl or streaming music via Bluetooth. The speakers have good clarity and decent bass for their size. It’s a fun mix of old-school vibes and modern convenience.

I purchased this turn table with the accompanying speakers with hopes of a clean and clear playback from my albums, but it will not playback on the preset speeds correctly. It's been sounding as though its not getting enough power or it's just winding down all the time. I checked to see if there was any adjustments to control this issue, or if there was any way to adjust the belt 🤔. I saw no possibilities for a quick and easy solution for the lagging performance and the speakers are very below par with the sound quality and sounds as though it winding down underwater. I am returning it as soon as the store opens after a couple of days of hopes that it would work by some kind of miracle, but no it has failed me for the last time.?

I bought a couple of vinyls and wanted to listen to them and so I bought the Victrola Kingfield. I set it up and followed every instruction, it started skipping so I tried another vinyl but still kept skipping. And the sound quality is really not that great. Not sure what the problem is. I hesitated on returning it since it has a bluetooth option but the bluetooth won’t even connect to my phone. Tried to turn it on and off and troubleshoot it as best as I could, after an hour of researching it, I decided that it would be best to just return it. The design is very pleasing to the eye but it’s just not worth it.
